Britain has long been a country that loves its curries. Recent research by the Co-op confirmed this is still the case and showed that the Chicken Tikka is still the nation’s top curry choice, followed by Chicken Korma and Lamb Rogan Josh. Pilau rice, poppadoms and a garlic naan were the favourite curry accompaniments.
The survey revealed that the average Briton enjoys a curry once a week, with around a third describing themselves as “curry lovers”. And it is not just a weekend experience. Over 30% of those surveyed said that they are likely to choose a curry as an easy meal after work or as mid-week treat.
