Curry restaurant group Mowgli Street Food is planning to open several new venues this year despite the negative impacts of Covid-19 pandemic. In a recent statement it indicated that it still had a fundamental belief in the dining out market and was confident the group would prosper again as trading restrictions are relaxed.
Mowgli presently has restaurants in Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Nottingham, Cardiff, Sheffield, Leeds, Bristol and Leicester. On the drawing board are further ventures at sites in Ellesmere Port and Edinburgh.
Recently published accounts show that pre-tax losses widened from £1.2m to £3m in the year to July 2020. To support operations through the pandemic Mowgli secured £2m through the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme and also drew down on an existing NatWest bank facility.
