Coventry restaurant blasts TripAdvisor critic

An attempt to smear the reputation of one of the country’s most famous Indian restaurants has been condemned by its owner as “totally unacceptable”.

Turmeric Gold in Coventry went on the offensive after a highly critical review appeared online on TripAdvisor. The unhappy diner claimed the waiter was “surly” and the prices too high.

However Turmeric Gold responded on the website claiming they had a video of this customer cleaning the plate by eating every morsel, and then trying to haggle with staff over the bill. The restaurant said it would not be blackmailed by ‘ill-mannered and people of bad character using TripAdvisor as a bullying tactic.’

Since opening, Turmeric Gold has won a number of awards. These include the Best Restaurant at the Godiva Awards in Coventry and Warwickshire, Best Ethnic Experience at Coventry and Warwickshire Food and Drink Awards, and recognition in the Best in Britain and British Curry Awards.
